Scratch

MIT Media Lab’s Scratch visual programming language is in no way groundbreaking. Scratch pretty much shares the look and functionality of the Android App creator put out by Google. Still, this sort of plug and play programming is enormously helpful in opening application development to a wider demographic. Read more about it here or here.
