Hudson River Valley School Relocates to Lancashire

UK painter and illustrator James Naughton quietly, um, rocks. There are overtures to Cook and Goya but also the brushwork hints of both 1980s neo-expressionism and 1600s zen ink. His subtle and exceptional work is a good argument for studying traditional compositional techniques and color theory. Mostly though, it’s just wonderful to view.
